Cross-Curricular Project at West Johnston High
The WJHS Adobe and Interior Design classes teamed up to create a cross-curricular Haunted House project. WJHS Teachers Jamilah Rollins and Afton Benner paired 3 students from each class to create the interior and exterior of a Haunted House. Students also had to create a story for the house. The Interior Design students made a mood board for the house and the Adobe students took a regular house and Photoshoped the picture to make the exterior of the house fit the story and look haunted. The students then worked together to create a diorama of one room of the Haunted House to finish out the project.
After the Projects were complete, student work was displayed in the media center. Staff members and administration were invited to come and see the projects. The students explained their story and design ideas to all who attended. This was a wonderful experience for those classes to work together and bring new experiences to the students to help them learn.
